The team at Premier Estates Wine are big fans of celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and have been avid viewers of his immensely popular Italian adventures over the last couple of months. We love all things Italian and we get all excited when October comes around because it's International Pizza month! Which Of Our Italian Sparklers Goes Best With Particular Pizza Toppings?
Not surprisingly, our team love assignments like this. Over the last few days they've been hard at work tasting various types of Pizza to see which work best with Prosecco and which go nicely with Grand Rosé. Talk about a dream job?
Here's what they discovered:
- Grand Rosé works well with spicy pizzas, such as chili chicken, beef, pepperoni or veggie, and "meat/seafood feast" toppings. The relative sweetness of this sparkler perfectly complements the spiciness of the chili and the richness of the meaty toppings.
- Prosecco goes nicely with the less intense tastes of a vegetarian, Hawaiian or Margherita pizza.
